Heck of a deal Josh.

You are nothing if not persistent. Wow, what a process of digging it out. Thanks for posting the pics of the process.

It just goes to show what you can do with a little determination and ingenuity.

All my spider bites are almost gone now..

Got the beast loaded. Carwashed and unloaded.

Engine is a factory authorized rebuild.

Odometer says 24k miles. Wonder if that original or 124k? Hard to say i guess.
Next week will put gas and spark to it. Pending all valves opening and closing anyway.

Anyone ever see a head like this "B121" ?

Wow, I had my doubts but you pulled it off and made it look easy doing it. My hats off to you . It goes to show that with ingenuity, persistence, and some hard work you can accomplish just about anything you can set your mind to.

What a job, very motivating and a great looking truck to boot. My hats off to you for getting that thing out of there. Now hopefully it fires and you get top dollar for all your hard work.

I was expecting a stuck valve or something at least... Nothing. Darn thing ran so smooth. Last inspection sticker was from 1972. I would wager a guess that truck had been sitting there since near that time.

My other friend who assisted with removal said "dont start it without me" was raring to go. If it hadnt been for all but one of the tires being flat he would have been gone. Fuel pump was pumping great. But as you could see most of it was peeing out the pump itself all over the back of engine. Need to swap pumps before running it again.

More video.

Congratulations! You have the luck of the Irish!

I bet the leakage is the fuel bowl gasket. Might try replacing it (with a cork gasket) before yanking the pump.

You have got to be kidding me!!!!! That is great, talk about karma. That old truck appreciated you getting it out of that pit so much, it was just waiting for you to give it a drink, a jump and it said thanks the only way it could "Vroom Vroom, Vrooooooom". Its reminds me of the little engine that could. Congrats.
