Plastic Inner Fenders (Removal)

My front plastic inner fenders are pretty beat up and I would like to remove and repaint them. What is the easiest way to take these off?

Please tell me I do NOT have to remove the front (sheetmetal) fenders...

I took one of mine out years ago. Can't remember what I did to get it out, but I didn't remove the fender. It was a pain to get them out though.

No need to remove the fenders. There will be several screws that attach to the fender well. Some through the sheet metal and some with u speed nuts. There will also be two near the front bumper (probably 8mm) nut. There is also one by the rear of the tire that connects to a metal tab near the exhaust. The D/S will require the removal of wire holders and any other components may need to be detached from wires you may have. The P/S will probably need some vacuum lines removed and possibly other items attached to the wall. Oh ya, there will be a screw and a bolt under the fender near the door. Now, depending on where you live, these items may be rusted and hard to remove. Sometimes a grinder, strong snips, and a little luck.

Great reply but - man that's a lot of work! I'm usually a stickler for doing it right, but I'd be thinking about spray painting those puppies right on the truck:

1.) Pull the tire, 2.) Clean the inner fender 3.) drape the undercarriage with a tarp, 4.) Tape / mask the outer fender, and 5.) Spray paint

The bolts that gave me the most fit were the ones to the battery tray. I ended up cutting those.
