Ford-O-Matic Slip Yoke Seal

Ford-O-Matic Slip Yoke Seal
How does the slip yoke seal on a Ford-O-Matic transmission?
I have looked at my Ford shop manual and it makes no mention in the transmission leak section to the slip yoke leaking out of the hole in the back of the slip yoke. I also looked in the assembly guide and theres no mention of a seal for the slip yoke and there is no part on the output shaft to seal the slip yoke in the illustration guide I have.
I have posted this in the Y-block section with 65 views but not a single reply as well as posted it over on the Y-blocks forever forums where it has gotten 51 views with no responses.
I talked with the guy we use for building our engines at work next doors to us after work and he made mention that he doesn't know on theses transmissions but if there is no physical seal it could be the output shaft bushing is the seal. This did not happen till this past Saturday when I had the front jacked up and replaced the front tires then when I started the car up and let it run that's when I looked underneath and saw transmission fluid steadily dripping from the slip yoke U joint cap. I don't see how it could be the bushing as it wouldn't go from not leaking to leaking from one day to another without being drove. It finally stopped leaking at the point where it was just at the L mark on the dipstick which is 1quart low.
So hopefully someone on here can provide some insight into this on how the slip yoke on theses transmissions seal as the owners manual doesn't talk about any seal or any leak from the slip yoke itself.

It is a kind of sleeve that fits over the output shaft. Not visible from the outside.
The yoke has an unsplined area the sleeve fits into.
Commonly called a grunt seal.
