I am fairly sure the bushings are worn. I was trying to hold off doing anything with them until I decide what to go to as far as springs. I am not wanting to drop it too low since I do drive it a lot. I asked Mid Fifty if they had smooth and forwarding springs with stock eyelets and how low it would drop it. They have not answered yet. I need to be able to afford what I am going to use one the front and the rear as they probably should be done at the same time.

My front axle restoration

DinnerHill SpeedShop: Front axle

New king pins

DinnerHill SpeedShop: Spindel assembly

Spring restoration

DinnerHill SpeedShop: Leaf springs

Buying aftermarket springs is not always that easy........it would be alot easier if the company actually knew what they where selling

DinnerHill SpeedShop: The famous front springs !!

Let me know if you have any questions, I would be glad to help

cool cruiser keep the strait axle, street rod, nice driver, truck the wife will drive go strait to IFS MII or lexus or crown vic. No on the LTD and Volare.

I have Volare. I like it but its too much work and too hard to reverse.

Ax whats the bad rap with the cheap IFS kits, I so want to put one in the 64 falcon.....

Artscott61 thanks for the offer on the volare/lebaron suspension but I decided to stay with the straight axle and leaf springs. Just need to start rebuilding it starting with the new kingpins.

poorly made, low quality, poor fit, parts missing, non standard/non interchangable low grade parts used, no or poorly translated directions, no customer service, etc etc etc. Stay away from the Chinese clone kits!!!

Ok, I started tearing down the front axle/spindles to replace the king pins. How do I get the brake plate off? I took the 4 nuts off the back side and have the hub off. It should slide off the shaft shouldn't it?
