actually felt bad for steel cleatus ......still think going aluminum was a good call
Yeah it was, so much that GMC finally jumped on the band wagon, too little, too late. As always, they play follow the leader.
"The new GM pickups will follow Ford’s lead, and use aluminum bodies in order to reduce the weight of the vehicles. Earlier this year, GM signed contracts with Alcoa AA +0.21% and Novalis for the supply of aluminum sheet metal for its next generation of pick up trucks.
However, these trucks might come too late for GM. GM’s new trucks will be lighter than its previous ones but unlike Ford they won’t be able to gain any marketing leverage out of this redesign".
Just remember GM will now claim how it revolutionized the truck market with Aluminum truck body components. Everyone will forget the commercials bashing aluminum and how steel as better. Silly GM.
Government motors is always behind and making blunder after blunder.
Like my 2012 chebby truck that seemed to always be in the shop.....sometimes requiring a tow truck to get there.
They still think tires are square.
Or if not explain the square fenders cutouts.
