It's really not that bad at all!! The majority of my waiting was not having enough muscle or hoist to move around the engine. I probably took a day to tear everything down, a few hours to pull/reinstall engines, and a day to reconnect everything and fill with fluids..... over a 2 month period lol

Ok... Took the truck for its first drive yesterday. The trans isn't shifting!!! It's stuck in second until I put it in manual 1st, and if I do that and shift to manual 2nd, it won't shift until I put it in drive! After that, always in second.

My computer power source us at my parent's house so I can't check with ae. I must have missed a ground somewhere??? That's the only thing I can think of. I'll pull the chip tonight to see if that does anything.

Prob dumb but are all the connections on the trans connected? Or maybe one of the connectors under the booster that goes down to the trans is disconnected? Did the torque converter pull out when you pulled the engine? When installing the engine did the bell housing pull up BEFORE bottoming the converter against the flywheel?

No dumb questions. This is my first engine swap so I could have overlooked simple things.

I'm thinking that the problem is I'm low on fluid... I haven't had the chance to test my theory though so I'll update when I'm able to.

Ok guys, I just drove my truck in to work with no hiccups!! I have a CEL for a bad EBP sensor, which is weird because it wasn't doing that before the motor swap. I am thinking I didn't plug the sensor in all the way. She shifts and acts just like a stock, non chipped motor... so SLOW!! I can't wait to get the dough to pay Jim to redo my Stage 1s. Until then, I guess I am glad I had a good set of stock sticks for the meantime.

It should read around 14 PSI atmosphere
With some more RPMs and or boost, the turbo will create back pressure and it will go up in reading

So I made a big step toward my RSK/lift step of the rehab of Charlee. This will be the last major component I am needing to rebuild to basically have a new truck (already rebuilt/replaced the motor, trans and rear end)

Here is how she sits as of Tuesday:

And the VIN from the truck I pulled the axle out of...

Here is the axle as it sits now in my front yard (aka parts depository)

So now i am looking for a rebuild kit for the front end. I have a very strong feeling I will be needing to regear the axle also (I would probably change the r&p anyway for peace of mind). Anyone have a suggestion for an overhaul kit? I am seeing one from Yukon through some online store:

Yukon Master Overhaul kit for '98 & down Dana 60 and 61 front disconnect differential. - RuffStuff Specialties

I would get the R&P from Yukon also unless I can find a steal of a deal somewhere else.

I can't wait to not have slop in my mother loving steering and no more pull!!! woot woot!!
