Super Duty name

I am just curious when Ford started using the Super Duty name. As a side note, Pontiac also used the Super Duty designation on their top-of-line 455 engine in the 1973-74 Formula and Trans Am.

The latest was 1999 model year to present. In the mid to later 90's the 450 was called F Super Duty. It was also used in the 60's I believe.

there was also a Pontiac Super Duty 4 cylinder later in the 1970's.

I remember when I was a kid (I'm 52 now) seeing 60's models of Ford Super Duty dump trucks.

My second Pontiac (74 Grandville) was a Wide Track, with RTS (Radial tuned Suspension). I'm thinking it was a 454; prior to my current 6.7 PS it was the most powerful (measure by the seat feel) vehicle I ever owned.
