Bought it today. Will pick it up Tuesday. Just plan on using the bed and will part out the rest.

So the next step is putting a for sale add in the FTE classified section, with some pics of course.

The rarity is that the bed is the high side variety. Taller than the standard bed. Appears to have been a highway dept. vehicle or similar as the paint underneath is yellow. Hope to get it home tomorrow and start removing the bed for rebuild. Have wanted a flareside bed rather than the styleside that came on my truck (which had some rot and no tailgate).

Canus - since the ad is no longer available, can you post up some pics? Curious to see this high-sided bed. Thanks.

Will try to post pictures. I THINK this bed is taller than the standard fleetside bed. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Not really taller just 45 degree flange vs. 90 on 1977 newer. I have a 1978 f250 I bought new with this configuration. I have many NOS bed parts if you are interested. And 40 years of knowledge on this truck. In charlotte.

I have a 78 Flareside shortbed and I'm looking for a NOS LH Driver side tail light assy. Any chance you might have one? Part# might be D7TZ 13405 A or B. Not sure about that though.

Pulled the bed last Friday. Removed all wood. Removed the steps and fenders Saturday. Hope to finish disassembly today or tomorrow. Fair amount of metal work to do where metal was in contact with wood. Hope to be able to re-use front panel. If not, Dennis Carpenter is only 45 minutes away. Wish me luck!
