95 psd dually NO POWER
how come it SEEMS like this truck has no power. I am extremely NEW to this diesel turbo/dually type of deal. Is it really that slow when these trucks are STOCK??? My friend has a 95 ram 1500 and when he pulls 4500lb it seems to be faster than my 95 psd dually. However his you can feel the weight of the trailer w/ the racer car and on the dually you don't, but he has better acceleration. Even regular driving I have to step 1/2 way throttle for the turbo to spool so the truck can accelerate. Is my PSD truck normal??? When the turbo isn't spooling so much the truck is DOG.....very very slow. Is that typical of a BIG 1995 7.3L PSD dually???
Opinions please???

No that is not normal from what I know. There could be several reasons for it being so slow. One could be that you are getting bad fuel. I know of one that had that problem. Another cause could be that your muffler is getting clogged. You could either clean it or get it taken off. But don't just take my answer, make sure to get some more replies because they might have the real reason.

no the dodge 1500 doesn't outpull it... i mean i don't expect the dually to be so powerful as to out accelerate 1500 trucks. I guess my real question is: If I pulled more weight like for instance 8,000lb vs a 1500 5.9L dodge would the dodge struggle to pull this compared to the dually??? That was what my brother and I were debatting about. Just hauling such light trailors/cars about 4,000lb wouldn't tell a difference, but if we went to double or triple that what would happen....that is what i was getting at.
also, my psd dually is a 5spd and not automatic. one more thing, when i drive other trucks WITHOUT a trailor, it seems like the dually is a dog like it is so heavy it doesn't want to accelerate. It picks up and all, but kind of slow compared to a 1500 truck or even to a toyota 4cyl. Is that typical of a dually???
opinions appreciated!!!
