Rotors and pads for a 2001 F350

Hey guys, I need to replace my trucks front brakes soon and I'm wondering if i should just stay with Motorcraft or is there something else you recommend? I will also add that Six months out of the year the truck will be towing our 10,000lb fifth wheel. Thanks,

Kevin

For me motorcraft lasted longest on my 01 f350 and my 2012 f250 . I'd say stick with motorcraft .shop around I save over 120 bucks buying online for motorcraft than through the dealer last week changing my wife's on her f150

Powerstop the best setup I have found. I can not comment on how how long they will last but they stop really good while pulling my fifth wheel.

I have the Hawk LTS pads and Power Slot Cryo rotors. They have served me well.

I believe I bought the Power Stop K1890-36 kit from Summit. Cross drilled and slotted rotors, with ceramic pads, for the front only.

They are a noticeable difference over stock rotors and L-cheap-O pads.

However, at very random times, I do get the warped rotor feel. It is not all the time, it is not consistent, but it does happen to me every now and then. I have not checked to see if the rotors themselves are warped, or if it is even in the rear rotors, so it isn't that bad. Maybe its just me. I don't drive that hard or tow that much, and I run the manual trans, so there is a big load taken off my brakes.

I wish I had better records, but I'm thinking 3 years and 20k miles and they are still not that worn down and make no noise. I would recommend this package.

Where did you buy your rotors from?

I would recommend against anything from a store like auto zone, advance, o Reilly's, etc, unless they carry motorcraft. Napa carries better parts and has a better warranty if you opt for store brand parts.

I believe I went with Buybrakes.com

You can check around from Tire Rack, Rock Auto and others to get the best deal though.
