1996 Ford F150 4.9l Wont Start

I have a 1996 ford f150 4.9l i6 5 speed. I drove it to work and shut it off and it shut down perfectly, no chugging no sounds or anything like that. After work, when I tried to start the truck it just cranked over. I had the vehicle towed home and since have replaced the ICM, Coil, Pickup assembly (inside distributor), crank case position censor, cap, rotor, sparkplug wires and plugs, and the fuel filter. I took off the timing cover and alined the timing gears with #1 piston at TDC and put the distributor in pointing at #1 on the cap. The truck has 52 psi of fuel pressure at the rail. The truck has spark and it has fuel and still will not start. I also looked at the inertia switch and it was perfectly normal, was not popped up. My fuel pumps also work. I need help figuring this out, thanks in advance.

Did you try pulling the spout before you start it?

I was gonna say the same thing.

Another question... Did you ever try pulling codes? I know its OBDII, but you replaced a lot of stuff and no mention of checking codes.

I pulled the spout and tried to start it but it just cranked and didn't start. With the codes I have not done that but I am going to order a reader so I can get them.

The scanner came today, and I went to read the codes but there were no codes, but in the I/M section there were many things that said "not ready", i dont know if that has anything to do with it tho. So now I am completely lost and dont know what to do next.

I'm having the same problem with my 1988 f150 302.. Fuel pressure is at 40psi which the spec is 35-45. And has spark.. I've replaced the ICM, MAP, and EEC relay.. The only way it will start is with starter fluid then it will idle fine but it's very rich. I've seen this similar problem several times but never a fix.. Someone has got to know something. The check engine light is on and scanner won't pull any codes.

That's your Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) status. Each test has to run for the truck to be eligible for a smog check. If any are not set then either you disconnected the battery not long ago or something is wrong with it.

But if you disconnected the battery then you also blew away any codes that were there as well.

Okay YOUR problem sounds like a failed PCM, seeing as how it won't give up any codes. Open it up and check for leaking capacitors or other electronic components in distress.
