Those wires are NOT from the upfitter switches. The upfitter wires end just above the under dash fuse panel. You can connect the upfitter sw wires to those wires to get power through the firewall

That is correct, Sorry should have told you that you need to connect the wires from harness from switches to these wires.I just ASSUMED( we all know what that gets us)lol, that since switches were not installed that wire would have to be connected.Just trying to help and going on memory.

Sweet deal, I would jump on that if I found it

Just looked at my 2006 that has the factory TBC. There are two electrical connectors at the bottom of the master cyl. One at the end and one in the middle.
Please let us know what you find out.
I looked into this before I bought my 2006. I decided to just wait till I found one with the upfitter sw and the TBC.
Also, look at the donor truck, see how many connections are on its MC.

Got the brake controller installed, but not the cylinder. Doing the cylinder next week before our trip. Controller still worked well, though probably not as well as it could. Thanks again for all of the input fellas!

Now wait a minute. You're saying your trailer brakes were functioning as they should without swapping your master cylinder?

Seemed that way to me. I could also use the slide if needed. Maybe it was in my head, but it sure seemed to work without the new MC.

I did not swap master cylinder on mine because my dealer told me it was not needed, they just reflashed pcm and my controller works fine. That is what I was posting earlier,But I was not going to argue with anybody.I could only go by what Dealer told me and that my controller works great.

Sounds like you're in business then. Can you see the green bars on the controller respond to your brake inputs?

Yes I could, that's what made pretty confident it was working. Very happy, and very grateful for all the knowledge here!

Interesting! We always thought, and ford always said, in order for the factory TBC to work up to model year 2010 you had to have the master cylinder with the two sensors and a reflash.

The factory TBC will work as a timed controller if there is a problem (like a missing sensor)... that does not get the complete benefit of an integrated controller though. The seamless stops in my own rig are so nice after putting up with the "ramp-up" controllers in company pickups.

How does the pressure bar read when you hit the pedal? When towing, I rarely input enough pressure to get more than 2 bars.

I guess the other sensor could just be an ABS thing. Have you tried to lock up your brakes with a trailer to see if it throws a TBC FAULT?

Mine actually worked before the SJB was flashed to enable the TBC... just poorly. It was like an on-off toggle.

Also, did you put an '08-10 TBC on an '06? Didn't the TBC and upfitter switches change sides in 2008 to bring the TBC to the driver's side?

They were changed after '07. I put '06 in my truck, I was afraid the later years may not fit. I did try throwing the trailer brakes on fully, no fault came through. I believe the most reading I received was 3 bars, and that was with me on the pedal pretty hard. Most times it was one or two bars.
