moon roof is stuck open can hear motor trying to run on open side od switch but nothing on close

 

There are some limit switches up in the mechanism somewhere. If the closed one was stuck, it would think it's already shut and not let it move to closed.

There is a module that controls the motor. I can't find where it's located yet.
