New truck

Hey all I just got a 1983 ford truck. Or has 800 bucks worth of tires and rims. It is f150. Has a 5.0L V8 under the hood. The carberater needs work. It will only crank over but run for a second then dies. Any suggestions? Feel free to ask questions about it too. Grooms1983 out!

When it quits, see if you have fuel squirting down in the engine when you push the throttle open. Engine off of course, aircleaner off looking down the carb with a flashlight.

I have an 82 4x4 auto with the 302. All highway 55-60 I've gotten 13. Not taking it easy, 65ish highway, with some city driving I get more like 10-11.

If its well tuned with the OEM fuel system setup and a free exhaust, then 15 mpg should be easily obtainable. If it has the AOD, depending on your drive style, you may be able to get 17 or 18

I get around 13-14 MPG, combo of hiway, and city driving. "Spirited" driving! 84 F150 5.0/AOD

It may have a massive vacuum leak, make sure all the vac hoses are attached.
