wiring question

I am working on a 2014 Lariat, just installed air lift air bags on the rear suspension, installed an on-board controller in the cab. I located the gauge and switch on the side of the center console but cannot figure out where to tap into a wire to illuminate my gauge. Anyone know what color wire under the dash by the drivers side might work? Thanks in advance for your help.

I would use a multimeter or 12v tester and find an illumination wire tied to the center console wiring harness.

Forgot which color but look for the wire to the light in the shifter indicator. That is where I tied in

I may not understand correctly, but don't you have a hot wire connected to one side of your switch? If so why couldn't you connect to the hot there to illuminate your gauge? Now it would always be on unless you have a relay.

It's better to use a switched power lead. If the OP does use the same switched power lead to illuminate the gauges I guess it wouldn't be too big of an issue if they were illuminated all of the time.
