IT'S A KEEPER!!! My 'new' Aerostar......
The search for my second Aerostar took many years but is finally over. I recently picked up a local one owner AWD `95 Aerostar that was very well kept. I have every repair/maintenance receipt since day one and a hand written book of EVERY tank of fuel along with where the station was and the calculated MPG. Overall this van is very clean with nearly zero rust(I love CO!). I plan on going through every aspect of this van to bring everything up to par and then plan on designing a custom camping platform inside for sleeping on and storing items while taking trips. I'd also like to utilize the roof rack to its fullest and will be looking into that also.
Here are a few pictures, it cleans up super nice!!! I feel terrible parking outside all the time.....

Do you happen to have any idea as to the cause of the fluid dumping? Just way overheating? Do you know if it was run out of torque converter lock for long periods?
Usually, when you lose so much fluid, the transmission would stop transmitting torque.
Someone on this forum has removed the heads with the engine installed, so it is possible.

I heard of that; it's usually from running in OD under too much load. As others have said, it's better to run in 3rd with lock-up under those conditions. And yes, an aftermarket plate cooler is a must if you intend to run that way on a regular basis.
Lucky it's running OK after a flush and fill, and you didn't have to replace the seal.
