what is this Ex worth?

2000 Limited 4x4 V10 with 215000 miles. Leather seats, engine runs good. 3000 miles on tires. Won't move transfer case chain is hanging out of transfer case.

I really want a second ex. I am considering buying and putting a rebuilt transfer case in it.

If I were in the market, I would say between $2000 and $3000. You should be able to source a rebuilt transfer case for around $850.

That's great, I can get it for $1800. It will cost a couple hundred to tow it so $2000 is spot on .

Tell 'em a used Tcase is $500, $200 tow, = reasonable price of $1300.

Local pick and pull has a 2001 4x4 F350 with a V10 in it. It also has the transfer case in it.

$125 for the used transfer case. Will this fit in a 2000 excursion?

They want the core transfer case or they add $35 to the cost.

the T-case should bolt up no problem. Even if you eat the core charge its a great deal.

The pickup might have the floor shift transfer case rather than the EX's dash switch. I think you can swap the EX's shift motor over to the manual shift case if you don't want to convert the EX to manual 4X4 shift.
Sounds like good deal on that EX with a not too involved repair!

Will they accept your core- sounds like there is a giant hole in it?

Yes it has a giant hole. Pick and pull just wants core for metal weight. Scrap.

What causes transfer cases to blow like that. Ripped entire front driveshaft out at 75 mph

what is this Ex worth?

Why was the front driveshaft spinning at 75mph would be my initial question.

I know the AlaskanTexan (Russ) runs at crazy speeds in 4x4, but for the average joe that is awful fast.

It seems like a killer deal. Put a new T-Case and driveshaft in and call it a day.

Is there any way the transfer case could have locked in 4x4 without the dash switch?
