08-10 Spyder Projector Headlights w/ HIDs

I am installing HID's in my Spyder headlights and wanted to start a discussion on what everyone is running for bulbs in theirs!

About a year ago, I recall a discussion on a forum( possibly this one) pertaining to the Spyder headlights with HID kits installed I'm them. Almost every person that installed hids in theirs said they had no issues and they worked great. My question is how? I had a morimoto kit and the H1 hid bulbs were so long that the bulb hit the cutoff plate inside the projector and to actually seat the bulb required cocking it up and pushing it past the cutoff blade.

1. This just seemed really jankedy
2. I was worried about melting the cheap projector considering the bulb was nearly touching the inner projector

So I opted to but some morimoto h3 bulbs which have a similar base but are much shorter than the H1 hid bulbs. A little dremel action to the base and they should fit right in. Yes I realize these projectors are made for halogen and not hids BUT the focal point of the light should be much closer to the halogen H1 with these H3's.

Has anyone else experienced these problems? Or ran H3 hids instead?

I love the ccfl halos and look of the lights, just don't want to retrofit them with a high quality projector just yet. If these projectors ever melted or the lights got condensation in them, I'd go ahead and bake them apart.

I ran those on my f150 with the h3 bulbs. They worked fine but the heat did eventually start to warp the lens of the head lights. Looked cool with the halos and led lights.

It started to warp the lense of the headlight or the projectors?
