Dan,
Are there any "local" events during the time you are thinking about?
The one day truck event could be stretched In to a weekend if there were other activities to tag onto. You wouldn't need to plan much more, only provide a guide to other things to do. I.e. Event info, Museums, antique stores etc. maybe a local motel that would give us a group rate for the long distance travelers.

I'm a ways away to help with pre event stuff but I've you need a hand the day of the event count me in. I will pm you my phone #.

Dan, Please add me to the list. I live in Morgan Hill just south of San Jose.

There is a once a month get together in San Jose held on the second Saturday of the month 7am to 11am year round. The address is 1815 Hillsdale ave San Jose CA 95124 It's called Ronnies morning get together ... you can google it.
It's a great group of people that would welcome more FTE members.

OK, you're offically on the list.
Is Ronnie's morning get together made up of FTE Members or do a lot of FTE Members show up to participate in the fun? Thanks for the information. I'll look them up and contact them. Might receive help or ideas for our meet-up.

The list is growing day by day. I have interest from FTE Members all around the Bay Area, Central Valley, Sacramento, Forest Hill, Paradise, and more. I need to plot this out to come up with a central location, a series of dates, and a venue that will be acceptable to the majority of those interested.

I have been working hard to get my truck together enough to drive around the block. It won't have windows and doors, or front sheet metal for that matter. My goal is to do this before January 1, 2016. I have a lot to do still. Here is a photo. I have a lot more done but this gives you an idea as to where I am at.

I will continue to work on our meet-up, but may not make to many arrangements until the new year. You all hang in there and I will get this all arranged. Thanks for everyone's support.
Take Care
Dan

Just something for you guys to think about, when the idea for Truckstock was first brought up part of the idea was to have a gathering of just the old Ford Truck guys. Most of us were tired of the same old spending several hours in a hot parking lot. It was also decided pretty much as a group not to make any other vents part of OUR gatherings. Last year was the first time we attended any other event, and it was a tractor show and horse pull that we just happened across while out for a drive. This year some of the guys asked about a similar 'stop', so I found a Corn Festival that wasn't too far away. Once we all gathered, nobody wanted to bother and instead we just took about a 40 mile group ride and spent most of the time just visiting and talking about each others trucks. Most of the guys brought their wives or other family members and it was a really good time.
This is your event and you all need to figure out what you want your event to be.

Your doing a good job Dan, I googled everybody's home town and it seems that the Sacramento area or foothills there of, would be the most central area, Seem's 11 folks are within 90 miles of Sacramento, and 5 between 100 and 137 miles, the longest being Morgan hill at 137, Los Banos at 126, Palo Alto at 119, and Truckee at 100 miles, according to the map service I used. Whatever you come up with will be fine, weather it's lunch, camp, show its all good. Im sure many of us have our limits on miles we are comfortable driving. Here it what I found. This was b4 the get together in Morgan Hill was suggested, so we can re check distances if the group would like to attend that event. Just my 2 cents of help.

TRACY (2 members) =68 miles
STOCKTON (1 member) =50 miles
LOS BANOS (1 member) =126 miles
ROCKLIN (1 member) =21 miles
LINCOLN (1 member) =30 miles
FOREST HILL (1 member ) =61 miles
PALO ALTO (1 member) =119 miles
MORGAN HILL(2 members?) =137 miles
TRUCKEE (1 member) =100 miles
ELK GROVE ( GROVE (2 members) =18 miles
PARADISE (1 member) =87 miles
Crokket (1 member) =61 miles
BRENTWOOD (1 member) =62 miles

I was just about to do the same calculations. Thank you for doing it for me. I am open to a Truckstock type of affair but if we tie it to another function, I would like that to be a separate affair. Maybe we could have our meet-up on a Saturday, and those that want to go to the other function can go on their own later in the day or the next day.

I think we may have to put together a ommittee to put this together. That may be the best way to put together a plan that everyone can agree upon.

Many thanks to rustyrelic, harlymsn, and underthebridgejim for all the help and suggestions.

This will come together, I promise.

Thanks

Dan
