I have those isolated. The HPOP lines aren't even connected to the heads. They are raised higher than the HPOP reservoir so in this case they aren't causing the drain.

I can't guarantee the IPR is good but the oil level is lower than it at this point and when the truck gets started it runs well.

Thanks for the ideas. Keep them coming!!

I sure wouldn't. If the front cover is cracked, the oil pan needs to be dropped to replace it. If the oil pan needs to be dropped, the engine needs to come out.

That's not what I wanted to hear. So in order to figure out if that's what it is I have to pull the engine?

It could be the lower hpop gasket: #8-009 HPOP Engine Mounting Gasket 96-03 - High Pressure Oil Pump - 1999-2003 Ford 7.3L

I would get in touch with Bob or Clay and see what they think.

Clay said lower gasket, IPR or block drain. It could only be the block drain if I have oil on the ground right?

Is it possible that it is the IPR?

Well if that has been verified I think the next thing you could do here is with the cover off pour some oil in yourself and try to see where it is going. Meaning is it draining right away or half full or what? Maybe even do a video for the rest of us while you do it so we can better help you on this one. As tearing this thing up would be a real bear bro.

It seems to drain about an inch and hour. I cannot see where it is draining. Are you talking about removing the engine cover?

Let it drain completely down, then add just a few drops of oil and watch. Add a few more if necessary until it starts to drain. Then watch the little bit of oil slowly drain until it stops. The puddle of oil will shrink around the drain location until it's gone. Just like water in a bathtub.

You need a spare IPR anyway Wouldn't hurt much to grab a cheap one one off amazon and test it.

I forgot about the HPOP gasket. That would allow the entire reservoir to drain back into the pan. Might be worth a shot.

Technically it can be done in frame, but by the time you unbolt the engine and jack it up high enough to get the pan down far enough to unbolt the pickup tube............ yeah, you'll wish you just pulled the engine. Lol.

It is completely drained. I mean empty and there is only 1 hole at the lowest part, below the screen, right? That means it is draining wherever that hole leads. Correct? I just don't know where that hole goes. I am thinking HPOP feed?

Clues:
  1. The top of the picture is the slush box for the HPOP, and it is full of oil to the highest rim - you can see oil there. No leak here.
  2. The LPOP feed is on the bottom of the photo, and you can see oil drained way down the feed hole.
  3. There are no leaks anywhere on the truck.
The LPO check ball is not sealing for some reason, and your HPOP reservoir oil is leaking back into the pan. I have no idea how to access this part to service it, but it's in there somewhere.

To which picture ate you referring ? When you say LPO check ball you mean the quick fill check valve or is there another one somewhere?
