390 Miss problem fixed, but now a new problem :)

Well i'm pretty sure the miss problem is fixed I was having earlier this month as some of you may have seen the post for. New ignition, coil, and plugs and its gone. But i have a new problem.

Result.

Looks like its time for something larger than a dana 60. The twisted one only had 2 hooks on it coming into the pull that broke the other side.

LOL - the Dana 60 in my highboy did that a few times

Dana 70? Better axles? In my case, I broke the diff carrier once as well, so I'm not sure better axles won't just move the breakage somewhere else.

Was there ever a four-spider Dana 60 diff case?

I have a 70 for it that will go in over winter. We only have 2 more pulls. So i'm going to try to toss new (used) axles in it just to make the next few hooks so the real owner of the truck gets to run it this year (my girlfriend) i have been fighting the issues with it and she said its better for me to run it and know whats going on with it, than her trying to tell me what it did. lol, I'm not complaining its fun to run.

I'm not having any luck finding an axle, so this may be the last video for the year.

Aw, hope you find what you need. Hopefully the 70 will do the trick. Let us know how it turns out. Seriously!

Well after searching for a few days and a walk through the neighbors "collection" still no luck. So i called another drivetrain/machine shop and he called back about 30 min later and found one. So after a 1.5 hour drive one way, a stop at walmart, and sonic's (she wanted lunch lol) Its back together and ready for her to tear up tomorrow night. I told her to be gentle off the line, but don't baby it at the end lol. I'll put up a vid probably tomorrow night, or saturday morning. Hopefully it holds together. The track tomorrow night is a little more lose than the one last week.

I'm still going to start gathering parts to do the 70 swap. I'm not sure if the spring perches will be the same width on the e350 as the f150. I doubt so i'll have to find perches. Thats always a fun time trying to keep that stuff even, and centered, and a tthe right angle.

I found it ridiculously easy to break a Dana 60 in 4LOW even with a stock 360.

Last night's video. This is the best she has ever left the line, and drove. It was a little soft at the starting line, so i told her to take it easy on the throttle off the line. Excuse the camera shaking after she got it rolling, i heard it hitting the limiter, and looked away from the camera to see if she broke. It made me a little nervous, since its set at 6900 lol.

First place, 393 feet. Finally snuck one in on the 09 chev 2500 that has been giving us problems for the last year.

I plan on pulling atleast one axle to check for twisting before our next hook in a week.
