I see you got the better end of having a tree grow through your vehicle.
Only a few feet towards the cab and it would be un-salvageable.
My grandma used to have an old sedan with the tree growing through the floor board.
It had a winters worth of wood and a hot summers worth of cold beer of scrap metal.

35= F350
V= 239 ci OHV V8 (Y block)
5= 1955
N= Norfolk, VA
18762= Assigned unit number (that would be a 1 not an I, as I and O are not used)
If you have the plate off the glove box door it will also tell you WB, Tran Color Build date. Without the tag, that information is not marked anywhere else.

I'm unable to post pictures for some reason, have picture of VIN that shows what appears to be an I after the N, I'll keep trying, no plate on glove box door.

yep it be an early y as if i'm not mistaking i see the 3bolt carb pad of the early 94's and strombergs on that intake . just don't do what i did with my 350 of 55 vintage , turned it into a 1/2 ton on several different frames before the last one got destroyed and i traded it off . wish i'd have left it what it was as a flatbed car hauler from the early days of shaheens springfield speedway and macon raceway ...................

Picture of VIN
Thanks for the info,Sure looks like an I to me, 5 after the V kinda looks like an F, don't think this is the original engine.

Being a Y block, the casting numbers will be found on the block on the drivers side near the oil filter (Cleveland blocks) 3-5 digits followed by 6015 like EBV 6015
In the above, C2AE would be a 292 from a 1962-1964 car or truck.
Or near the distributor on a Dearborn engine.

"I" is never used in a Vin or serial number (Neither is O)
