Surprised the search came up empty- want to do preventive maintenance on a 2010 Platinum with 50K miles. With the crappy gas these days (and ethanol) figured it is overdue.
Hopefully it is an in-line filter somewhere and not in the tank?

Most vehicles these days have a unserviceable screen inside the tank.

 

fuel filter is in the tank and is not considered a serviceable item.

 

That is NUTS! Engineers now don't believe in preventive maintenance??

 

Fuel tanks are plastic which means no rust. The gas lines are rubber and stainless, no rust. I don't agree with all of the no maintenance items that are built into our vehicles today but I do see the point of no fuel filter.

If or when the fuel pump fails, the screen will be replaced then.
