P0403 Error and testing the EGR solenoid valve
Hi Guys,
I'm assuming that I should not be able to blow thru the the EGR vacuum solenoid valve when it's not energized, is that correct?
I pulled the solenoid valve after getting the error, and it doesn't seem to be closing off when it's out of the vehicle. From what I've read it sounded like the valve should be closed.
Thanks

What are you working on? P0403 can mean different things depending on the specific EGR system deployed. Besides, that fault code is for an electrical circuit fault. Check the coil resistance, probably around 25-40 ohms. Make sure it's plugged in, etc.

This happened to mine a while back-

The ground wire going into the solenoid was bad. I gave it a little tug since it never did ground out to activate the solenoid and it came right out. I was able to remove the pin from the plug and repair it.
