I'm a blow in to the US from Oz and was after some advice about an F250 7.3l I'm looking at this arvy. Just came across the forum while looking for tips on things to check out and this place seems a gold mine.


the truck is a 2001 with 280k on the clock, been used for cattle towing and such. Guy admits it'll probably need relay and glow plugs so I'm going to run a voltmeter over the relay just to check that side and I can wear the glow plugs as he already said he'd drop the price a bit. I'll do the usual test drive and see how the transmission shifts - he said it was rebuilt at about 80k - guessing diode issue maybe? and he had $700 heavy duty kit put in as part of the build??


Other things I've found out:


Oil cap test
Turbo blade inspection
Check transmission oil for black/red colour and burning smell.


Any other suggestions and thanks heaps for the imput in advance
