Hello OR, Please help an FTE'er on an East Side roadtrip

Hello,
As the title states, wondering if I could get a little guidance traveling Eastern Oregon, if you don't mind.

Next week we're headed up from the Bay Area to visit the old stomping grounds of Central Oregon, then heading to Boise. I'm driving a '13 Superduty and dragging a 30' Jayco 5er. I've been to Burns a lot as a kid growing up in Redmond, but never really traveled further East to Boise. Hwy 20 from Burns to Ontario, on a map, looks rather curvy. There also looks to be a more southern route, hwy 78 to 95 to Boise. Is hwy 20 as bad as it looks on a map for a 50' rig like mine.

Thanks for the help.

I cant comment on pulling a 5er thru there but I will say the drive isn't all that bad as long as your not hell bent to be in a hurry.

I pulled my 34 foot Jayco 5th wheel over 20 a couple of time and would not hesitate to pull my 40 footer over it. Take your time and enjoy the drive. After Burns you go into a time warp and are back 50-60 years. People you never met will wave to you (using all there fingers). As likely to see someone on horse back as in a car. Life slows down and your problems are 100 miles behind you.

I fully concur. Haven't pulled a 5th wheel on 20., but used to drive a 2 1/2 ton horse truck pulling a 20' camp trailer behind it. No problems at all. My uncle also used to pull his 5th wheel out to the Juntura area for hunting and visiting some friends of his all of the time. I think that one was somewhere in the 30' range.

Ok then. Thanks guys.
This is my first long road trip with a truck/trailer this size. My last towable was a large popup. Until I get a couple thousand miles under me, I don't want to take this thing anywhere I don't belong.

Thanks again.

Its a good road, used to drive big truck across there a bunch. Stinkwater and Drinkwater pass are pretty good pulls. When you head east out of burns there is a really long straight stretch before you start up the hills, I once found a 7/8 Craftsman end wrench on the road there.
