No Start condition, need guidance, help

2005 PSD Ex. 4x4.

Drove it a few nights ago and it felt really gutless. Next morning, no start. Well, it tried, but it sounded like it was run out of fuel (had half a tank)and I turned it off. Changed both fuel filters, key on / key off to purge system about 2 dozen times. Still no start.

I have all eight injectors with "injector Circuit Low" code, a P0401 - Exhaust Gas ReCir Flow Insufficient Detected, and P0672 - Glow Plug #2 (which it has had for a few months).

I thought with all of the injectors, it might be the FICM, checked the FICM voltage with Torque during a start and it showed 47V the whole time.

Any ideas? Harness? I did not think running with the glow plug error would be a big deal especially during the summer in So Cal.

Thanks guys.

Good voltage readings from a ficm does not rule it out. test injector harness at ficm would be next step. Ifgood then ficm is suspect

Consider the fact that your logic board could also be toast.

Ask me how I know....

Good to see you on here again cheezit!

The field highlighted in bold red says it all. Change the FICM and move on with life. As already mentioned above, good FICM main voltage indicated doesn't rule it out. Situations like this are a perfect example of when a spare known good tester FICM is handy to have around.

To Mike's point...

Last June I had a customer with a 2003 Excursion that had the same symptoms. Wouldn't start and showed codes for all 8 injectors, the FICM voltage even with fully charged batteries was abysmal.

After being sent off for repair and upgrading, it fired right up. The owner thought the HPOP had gone out again and was relieved to hear it run again.

So, is this error caused by just the power board? Has the logic board really failed? I thought most of the problems have been on the power supply side of the FICM. If its just the power board, I'll just buy the half a FICM from Ford, if it is reasonable. Thanks, just trying to get a better understanding of the issues.

With yours showing 47 volts it would be best IMO to replace whole FICM

WHATS THE following show
FLP
FVP
