Powersteering issue
I have a 1989 f150 and have recently been getting a whining sound coming from the powersteering pump. I've barely messed with it, but wanted so see what others think. I've topped the fluid off and warmed the trucks temp up and turned the wheel side to side to make sure I bled out all the air and topped off what I could. the pulley on the belt is making a little noise from the get up but I don't think that would be an issue, or would it.
so what i'm trying to figure out is whether the entire pump is going up (truck has 130k miles) or is the pulley is causing the whine when I put stress on the steering when turning.
thanks for any reponses..

I just did this swap over the weekend. One of the best upgrades I have done. I can turn the wheel lock to lock with one finger and it is silent. You need the whole aluminum mount from a fuel injected van with a 302 or 351 (300 six is different). Also take the high pressure line, some guys say to replace it with a different line but i made it work. Some guys also say you need a longer belt but mine worked. While I was in there I also added a Super Duty Power steering cooler. Make sure you fill the system with ATF (I used Type F) not the power steering fluid crap they sell at parts stores.
