Well 1st I gotta say Welcome Back Randy. Awesome Idea. I know John (Jowilker) has been mentioning here on threads about putting late model engines in our old trucks. But YOU did it! I bet you got one of the smoothest running Slicks on the Planet. Tagging along. Once you get to that point you ought to contact Robert (Gangstakr) about getting a rearranged 66 grille like he built for his truck. Check his out. It looks SO much better than a stock grille.

Very cool! Just a question though - isn't this more of a body swap than an engine swap into an old Ford?

My question is still valid - I see a new f150 chassis, suspension, brakes, dash drivetrain, etc. with a 66 f100 cab on it. Again, its an awesome build, and it doesn't make sense to just transplant the engine and tranny into an old twin i beam chassis, but ultimately you have more new truck than old truck at the end of the day.Do you disagree?
I was just questioning the title of the thread more than anything....

Wow. I bet that drives like a dream. Lots of thought had to go into that one. Only thing I don't like is it looks like you are limited to the ride height; probably can't go lower. Looks like the wheels stick pretty far out because of the late model track width.

That's pretty awesome, I like how everything is still held down by clamps or straps for the test drive

Thanks Jeff!

It was good to visit with you a while back @ the dealership.

Once I have the truck all working like it should I will then start the tweaking.

Next up is to make it street legal. Adding lights etc then get it registered.

Drive it a bit before blowing it apart for paint. I will most likely fit tha box to prior to paint.

Hey Randy, is the 70 Cyclone on the cover of Aug 2003 Cars & Parts magazine the one you had?

It was in a bunch of magazines and calendars. A half dozen Books too.

I do not recall if the one in cars & parts was the SCJ or the CJ car.

I had two of them both Orange

The SCJ car was a no option built for drag racing Orange with White Interior SCJ 4spd with a 4:30 Detroit Locker

The CJ car was a completely loaded Orange with houndstooth interior

Kinda thinking the SCJ was one in Cars & Parts

It was on a NAPA calendar last year.
