2000 Excursion v10 transfer case explosion

Driving on my way home, my Excursion began vibrating and bang the transfer case broke in half. question will a 2000 f250 tcase swap with mine?

Should be the same? Are they both ESOF? or is the F250's manual? Do you have pictures of yours broken?

Has there been any work done to the T-Case recently or in the past? Do you know what fluid and what the level was? Not trying to point a finger here, just trying to get some insight into this semi-rare failure and if there was anything that might have contributed to the failure.

Yes, a T-Case from an F-250/350 should swap right in as long as it is the ESOF (dash switch vs floor shift) version.

I'm curious if you have been driving around with your front hubs locked either knowingly or unknowingly. There is some thought that this contributes to this somewhat rare failure. Any pics of the carnage?
