Lots of rattle engine noise from exhaust

Very loud sounds like bottom end/rod bearing and is about to go out with a bang real quick!!

Truck is a 2009 5.4 3V
Will the motor from a 2005 5.4 3V work to replace it? As I have one of those sitting in a old work truck. I know the intake etc is different but using the 09 stuff will it work and be a easy enough install or do I need a 09-10 motor?

Thanks

As far as I know, it should work, your intake and injectors need to go on the donor engine, both engines are variable valve timing, how many miles on the donor engine?

you will probably have to swap the harnesses for the VCT solenoids, but AFAIK it will work.

This may be a stupid comment, but could your CAT have broken up and you are hearing the ceramic rattling?
