How will an F150 do towing?
I'm looking for a truck (never had one before) and am wondering how a 150 will doing hauling stuff and towing. I'm trying to start a small market farm, so it won't need to haul/tow too much. small walk behind tractors, 4 wheelers and such. And maybe a bunch of compost. However, I'm thinking I might get some heavy equipment for doing earthworks and then there's the possibility of getting a travel trailer/5th wheel to go on vacation (probably to Florida from Maine). I have been thinking F250/350 diesel, but after seeing what's out there and my cash limitation (I didn't really know what trucks go for. I have about $8K and prefer not to have payments. I have been looking at '05's or so), I'm thinking what I want and what I'm going to end up with are two very different things. It will be my primary mode of transportation, so I'm not thinking XL (I drive limos for a living, so I'm used to nice vehicles). Here's the thread I started in the diesel forum https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post15579176

I have a 2002 F150 with a 5.4 motor and automatic trans. I have a car trailer and haul the 3000# trailer and 5000# truck on it easily.. 8000# total.. you can haul more if you watch what your doing. F150 is a good all around vehicle to drive empty as a daily driver, then pull a camper when needed, or a car trailer full or parts.
