Question of the Week: Have you driven the new F150?

You're right, that is crazy! Pretty sure there will be a marital fight once you do. Everything new is nice, but for me there is something about the new f150 you just dont get with dodge or Chevy. The 3.5 seems to have loads of power, and I just love what ford has done with the truck on the inside too.

It's August the "NEW" F150 or 3150 depending on how you look at it 2016's will not be out till November!
As far as me liking my truck, I like sitting here looking at it, I like all the neat toys or the ones that work anyways. It's just not as nice/fun to drive as my old 2002 was, this one takes arm and wrist effort to steer on the highway where my old one was finger tip driving. The seats are not anywhere as comfortable as the old one. I just drove home from the cottage today and my butt and back are sore my arms and wrists are also. I never felt this way after doing the three hour drive with any of my other Ford trucks all with the caption chairs. I did find a coffee cup that will fit in the cup holders so that problem is solved.

Same here, that was all Ford brought to the drive event. Found a dealer with a XLT 5.0 Sport crew, which I liked, but the trade over my 13 was too much. Mine being a regular cab 5.0 was quicker than all 3 15's. Since I'm a lead Foot, I kept my 13.

I helped my 32 yr. old son switch from his old Toyota to a new 15 F150 XLT crew cab with the bench front seat (he has 4 boys) with the 3.5 ecoboast motor. We are very impressed with the performance and gas mileage of that V6. The dealer here in Lake City Fl. here had internet pricing at $8500. below window sticker.

Yes, I have driven one - Just last evening in fact
I came away heartbroken and disappointed.
Already test drove the 2015 RAM Tradesman a few weeks ago, but was pretty sure I'd eventually end up with the 2015 Ford F150 XL... until I got into one last evening.
I liked everything about the new F150 XL's - looks, two out of the three engines, etc... but the heart breaker was the seats. Now I don't need leather, I don't need ten ways to adjust it, and I don't need fanciness, but a side-by-side comparison of the XL and XLT fabric seats made me realize that Ford may be doing the same thing that Honda does - even though neither will admit to it: they use an ultra-cheap seat foam in their base models.
I can't believe just sitting in the 2015 F150 had me in the dumps - I've owned two F150's and one F100, and think highly of Ford in general. I really thought that was going to be my truck.
Instead Ford throws a ton of **** in the XL's, and makes them miserable places to actual drive and reside in.
At this point, as much as it pains me, I have to go forth with my efforts to sit in a base-model Silverado (with cloth seats) just to get a feel for it. From a traveling representative's perspective, the F150 XL is not a comfortable place to be even when new. I'd hate to sit in it 35,000 miles and one year from now.
A little bit about me: 185 lbs., 5'10", don't want a bunch of options and certainly don't want to pay extra for the options I absolutely will not use. I am offended that the first level of acceptable seat foam can only be purchased with the XLT, and I really don't like the chrome grilles on the XLT's and up anyway.
I've owned 45 cages, multiple motorcycles, and my family had a used car lot of over 25 years, so I've driven a ton of used vehicles to see the effects of moderate use, ergonomic design and comfort.
