Headliner done!
Thank you Ross.
In the end I couldn't get the file to print full size- so I traced the opposite side -inverted- and cut...
It fit OK, kit from Mac's, quality a 6 out of 10 if I'm generous.
As others mentioned- I drilled all new holes.
I did use the inverted screw trick to get the center screw in the middle of the headliner close - Thanks to Pete and FortyNiner for the tip!

Drove for the first time well after dark tonight- WOW ! dark.
Thankfully there's a full moon tonight- I need to do something with my headlights.
Sticking with 6 volt positive ground, so probably going with an alternator that looks like a generator.
Aiming and maybe 6V halogens too?

How good are all your connections? How good is your generator? Have you adjusted your regulator so that you are getting 7.2 volts?
I had no problems with the 6V halogen headlights and stock generator on my 53 after I installed a reproduction wiring harness. I converted the car to 12V when I installed air conditioning and did not notice an increase in headlight brightness when running down the road. The headlights are brighter when idling, but I am running a huge 12V generator that puts out even at idle.

Ross, are there any of the aftermarket headliner kits that are made like the original 52's? I've read some of the threads, and mine is like the one shown in the thread with the templates. All the kits I've looked at seem to have too many pieces in them. Did the earlier trucks have the multi-piece headliners and that's all they make? I've looked at some closeups of Jim Welch's '52 and his looks right - possibly custom made? Thanks! - Bob

Bob, not sure which thread you mean "with the templates"? The templates made off an original that I posted a long time ago?
I don't know of any made "exactly" like the originals in terms of materials, maybe LeBaron Bonney? I'd have to believe they'd cost 3X what the Carpenter kits do. I believe the design of the Carpenter kits around the rear window is driven by shipping costs. If the original truck that "Overkill" used to make the templates had that area intact, he didn't trace it, so I can't say how the originals were made. There wasn't a bit of mine left by the time I got it.
Can you link to Bob Welch's truck?

The trim piece below the window on the blue 52 is the width of the (larger) window; the one on the green truck is the width of the (smaller) 48-50. I bought mine from Carpenter 2 or 3 years ago, it has the narrower lower trim. In the pic of the blue M-H truck that I looked at, the parts right above the door connecting to the horizontal roof piece looked taller and more vertical, could just be an illusion. See also how that part on the M-H wraps around to the window, while yours (saddle colored one?) has a separate piece?
