What to look for in new to me 6.7

I'm new to the forum with a couple questions. I just got out of a 2008 6.4 that was an absolute nightmare and into a new to me 2013 king ranch 6.7 longbed with 79000 miles. Is there any trouble areas to be aware of on this truck or anything to do to prevent something bad from happening. Ive driven it about 200 miles now and other than the rear end hopping at certain times I haven't had any problems

Your 2013 is a good year, It won't have the value issues that 2011 trucks have. Just like your 6.4 you have to watch for water in fuel.

I would change and replace all fluids. I would inspect the fuel filter for metal. Most likely you will find no metal. This is to check the health of your HPFP.

Congrats on the rig, gdiehl; welcome to the forum! Have you had your dealership check out the hopping? If not, I recommend that as a next step. Once they've looked things over, I'll be able to research some options to help.

As with any pre-owned vehicle, it's all dependent on how it was treated by the previous owner(s). It would be a good idea to get all the service history you can. You want to see IF there has been any major or minor service work as well as the frequency of routine maintenance. There are a few cosmetic problems we've seen in models that have a few miles on them. Power Folding Mirrors sometimes go out and need to be replaced. That alone is worth having an Extended Service Plan. It has enough miles that you shouldn't have any stagnate DEF fluid in it. I might not hurt, and be cheap, to go ahead and drain and refill your DEF fluid with fresh stuff.

Really hard to tell you what to do other than ruitine stuff without seeing your service history.

Got a car fax report and everything looks god, no major issues or or any maintaince other then the regular stuff actually. The exterior of the truck is almost flawless and everything works as it should. Based on how great of shape the KR leather is the driver was either very small or very gentle when they got in our out. In fact, if you didn't look at the odometer or a small stain on the back driver side seat you'd think this was a brand new truck.

Also, if I didn't buy the truck from a dealer does it still have its factory warranty?

It will still carry the 5yr/100k engine warranty unless the previous owner did something to void it. Warranty follows the truck. Welcome and congrats. We like pictures!!

The rear end hop could be shocks, wheel weight came off rim. Need tire balance.

Most of these SD trucks vibrate at 45-50 and 68-72mph. In my case the cure is to just hook up to a trailer, smooth as glass then.

I do think that the carrier bearing assembly needs to be firmer though, I'm pretty sure that there is a vibration in there at interstate speed.
