My 1948 F-6 has a flat 6,
I can't find any info on the engine? I'm in need of the radiator capacity. I have the shop and owners manual and can't find it.
Thanx for all the information. The manual I bought is the Ford 1942-1948 Mercury Shop Manual Service Handbook. Where do I get just the truck manual? That probably makes more sense to have sense I thought 1948 (to 1952) was a change in the f-6?
The 42-48 Shop Manual is a poor document - really a mashup from various sources. Look on Amazon or eBay, for the correct 1949-1952 Ford Truck Shop Manual. As your '48 is a Bonus Built design (first post war models), the info will all apply.

Great thanx for the link. I just received the radiator cap I ordered form Dennis Carpenter and I don't think it is the correct one. part 41A-8100. It looks like the last one I bought, too big? This radiator is 2 inches, not 2 3/4??? Ideas?

Well I went ahead on the LMC website and ordered both radiator caps since my radiator on my 1948 appears to look more like the $3.95 cap. The good news is they are very affordable, shipping was more than both caps.

Well, since the parts book says your cap is the same as on my F4, I believe you have a non-stock radiator. I doubt any cap from a Ford parts supplier will fit it.
These are the measurements you need, take them to NAPA or any radiator shop and they can hook you up. Also measure the depth of the filler, but the cap will be greater (spring compresses).
