My new X

Hey y'all,
Migrating over from the 87-96 side of the forum!
Just picked up a 2000 Limited 4x4 with the 6.8 v10. I have always wanted one, but I never could afford one until now. I got a deal that nobody in their right mind would pass up (at least I think so). I have big plans for her, but they will be limited by the wife I'm sure! For now it's just tires and ball joints And a bunch of light bulbs to make it road worthy. I'm sure I'll be posting on here a lot, and it looks like there is a wealth of knowledge here!

Welcome! We are going to need pictures of your new rig to make sure you aren't trying to infiltrate this very exclusive Ex forum. Actually, we just like pictures so let's see it!

Congrats brother. Just picked up a v10 myself recently. Looking forward to seeing what you've got in store for it.

Lots in store! Wallet won't support it all I don't think! I want to lift it and put it on 38s. For now it's just making it all flawless first. There is some minor body damage to fix in the rear corner. Shouldn't be too bad though. Have to do ball joints too.

Looking at your pics it makes me think - I know alot of V10s I see have the decal/badge for V10 right behind the headlights on the front fenders. Is that a stock badge, or is it something the guys add on after?

I have no idea! I'm sure someone will chime in with the answer though. I plan to go with the 2008 front end and mirrors eventually, so even if I had the sticker it would be going away!

What badge are we talking about? I don't see one on the OP's X.

And no X ever got an engine ID badge. Only the F series SD's got the badging. I went with 07 V-10 badges on mine in the stock location.

Got my new radio put in today, and fixed the hood light (I've never owned a vehicle with a working hood light, so I was pretty excited about this). Tomorrow I'm getting the bulbs for the instrument cluster to fix the ones that are burnt out and a glasspack muffler to put on! She has to sound as mean as she looks!

I hate this site. But I love it so much! I ran across the map light mod, and since mine didn't work, what better time than now to do it! It is like daylight in my X now. Well worth the 13 dollars and hour and a half I spent on it.

Next project is marker lights for the cab. The wiring harness is discontinued, and nobody has it, but I found the lights that look exactly like the OEM ones for $7 a piece with connectors.
