Hey guys i have a 2006 f350 lariat fx4 . When im crusing 55-60 it makes an intermittent pop noise from the passenger side front it sounds like . It doesnt cause it to loose power or anything but it drives me nuts . Some have told me that it could be the egr valve im hearing operating . The truck is a 1 owner bone stock truck with only 66k miles . Runs great but i cant figure out the pop noise .....

 

First check for codes with a quality scan tool. To rule out EGR valve, with key OFF, unplug and then roadtest.
Does it do it all the time? Can you make it do it or is it random?

 

Its random . No cel or wrench lights or anything and truck runs fine . It just drives me nuts hearing this random pop noise

 

It could be premature wear of one of the rocker arms or bridge. Can you hear the popping sound through the intake?

 

Na , sounds like maybe on the passenger side of the intercooler? Truck doesent run any different . Just annoying

 

Can you monitor boost when it does it? See if it's loosing boost when it pops.

 

Check your forward body mount. The rubber can burst and create slack in the mount.

 

So update on the ramdom "pop" , if i get down on it or floor it and blow the soot out of it the pop noise stops . Im lost .....
