Engine Advise

I am going to build a 76 F-250 4x4 from all the parts I have accumulated. I have two engines, one is a 352 v-8 and the other is a carbed 300 6 cylinder. My thoughts on the v-8 was to rebuild it as a 390, and my thoughts on the 6 was to rebuild it as is. I am looking for feedback as to what you guys feel is the best option. It will be used as a driver and trailer pulling vehicle. I am going to install a later model 5 speed manual with overdrive to make it a bit more road worthy.

I look forward to your replies.

Did you mean 352 ? I don't believe the 351 was ever an option in the highboy chassis .. What motor supports (perches) do you have ? The 300 six with a 5 speed with the 4:10 gears I think would be a great choice and worth your time ..
