Super Cab Seats

I have just purchased my first dent. I could not help myself. It was me or the crusher at the auction I was at.

The truck has a full bench seat and not a split seat but is a Super Cab. The upholstery matches for the most part. It is vinyl with inserts in the front and all vinyl in the back. It is upholstered on the back of the front seat as I imagine it should be. Could it have come from the factory that way?

The truck is a F250 Ranger Camper Special. If someone could post pictures of their seat it would be appreciated. I want to upholster the seat and want to make sure it should not be a split back seat.

It sounds like that seat was changed out, because a SC "should" (I say should very open ended) have a split back folder bench front seat, just like 78/79 Bronco's....that do not have buckets.

All the super cab's that I have owned (4) all had the split bench's in them. Like Rich said, I'm pretty sure they all came from the factory with the split bench's in them so you could access the rear section of the cab/rear seats.

Here is a couple of pics of the seats in one of mine. It's a 79 F350 4x4 SC Ranger XLT camper special.

THEN, I restored it and put these OBS seats...

Mine too is a 79 SC XLT Ranger Camper Special and it looks about the same but no split. Same gun rack too (attached by 3 different types of screws)!!! People do order the strangest things. Perhaps the original owner just did not want to give up the seat he was used to. I don't know how to read the tag in the jam to see if it was a special order. I kind of like the full bench. Time will tell.

I just ordered a bunch of "plastic" stuff for it. That darn stuff should last longer. Why shouldn't you get 50 years out of a dome light lens? At 36 years it should still be under warranty! Does anyone know if the covers for the tops of the shoulder belt supports are available? Both are missing. Also Carpenter is out of the XLT door panels with "chrome". They do have the regular ones. I can't see where there was ever "chrome" on the vent area. Is Carpenter correct about the XLT having "chrome" in the vent area? The elastic in my map pockets is also shot. Anyone repop them or should I have my upholstery guy repair them?

Lastly I found the clip for the lug wrench, the clamp for the jack handle, and a round plastic thing with a matching screw hole and hole in the carpet in the back seat area. Anyone have a picture of how this all mounts up? (not that any of it or the jack is there)

Seat belt covers are not reproduced, JY time.

Swap the dome light assembly over to an LED, problem solved.

If it not actual metal chrome on the door panel speaker part, just chrome/silver color on the speaker area and the lines/ribs down-back from it.

Upholstery guy for the map pockets, be very careful removing them, as they are not reproduced.

I looked at the doors when I got home from work. The passengers door, which has a broken door panel does have "chrome" on the ribs. The drivers door does not. I guess I'll have to wait until Dennis Carpenter has them back in stock sometime in September. As long as I am spending $200 I may as well spend $240 and get the correct panels.

They are out of a 96 or 97 F350 SC. No, I fabbed up my own seat pan to attach the seats to, then used my old seat brackets from my bench and bolted it to the seat pan and then bolted down in the original factory floor board holes.
