Here is an aluminum flathead with Ardun heads that I would love to have in any vehicle I owned...it wouldn't even have to run, I would push it around and leave the hood open so that folks could drool over it. Horsepower isn't everything with flatheads...something to be said for a nice smooth purr, kinda like your Mom's old sewing machine.

So glad you woke up from that dream. I got a little worried when you told me that plan.

I think I can get 175 hp without the blower, so that is what I'm going to shoot for. The 239 is not the screamer that it sounds like sometimes. The tone is all good , hp, not so much. Electric fan, 2 deuces, 3/4 cam, 8.25 compression heads, headers, port and polish, electronic ignition, every little detail adds up to horsepower. I built my first flattie when I was 14, a 39 Ford coupe, my brother had a 1940 sedan with 2 deuces and 3/4 cam, bored and not much else, it was a light to light screamer, I always wanted to beat him. Fast forward 53 years later, if he still had it I would smoke him. This ain't my first rodeo. Just follow your dream, no matter how dumb it may seem to some people.
