cab mounts and bed replacement

Getting my cab mounts replaced with energy suspension ones finally found a shop that has done them and the manager owns a 96 PSD so he knew what I was talking about. I have a new bed I am putting on the truck near future. Think I need to put the bed on first before paying the shop to replace the cab mounts so I know it will line up? I don't need them perfect its not a show truck.

Unless your crossmember are crushed in your current bed, a different bed will make No difference in how well the body lines match up

New Bed

The shop will appreciate access to the rear cab mounts if the bed is not mounted.

If you can take the bed on and off the truck, you're more than capable of doing the cab mounts, too.

Next question then is think I can move some beds with 4 people? I am sure I could recruit enough friends to help.

I have some 3 inch exhaust tubing and some threaded rod to make the tool to pull them. Shop wants a decent chunk of change to do them so might be worth doing myself. Just worried about dealing with broken bolts and the factory pressed in sleeves that I need to break loose and get out.

Plan on four people to lift the bed off safely. You can also rig a pulley system and lift it off in a garage using several ceiling joists as an anchor. I used a pulley system outside and used a tree branch from a 150 year old white oak to lift my bed.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but does anyone know what size bolts are used on these beds? I'd like to replace with Grade 8 hardware, if possible, and thought it would be useful information here.

1/2" is the diameter. If you are looking for the lengths, do a search is was just covered not long ago
