Baddad you are saying you ran a Cloyes set? I've always run them on Chevy's with the exceptions of one Edelbrock setup that I had given to me, And a billet Howard's setup we ran on a 504 inch Ford but that was 90% custom parts Chevy exhaust flanges adjustable rockers etc..

So I just want to make sure I get the right parts, I know I'm over thinking this.

Yea, I've never had a failure with a Cloyes set. The only time I ever had problems was with a Ford Racing HP set, that one ate into the cam retainer plate, didn't find that out til the block cracked a wall and I tore it down. The cam gear apparently was much harder than the cam retainer plate.

Great! Well that will start the list. Any recommendations on head gaskets? I usually just use a good felpro depending on application, except on my Nova it has the steel shim style. And will the nonadjustable rockers here that's out of the question.

Can't beat Felpro's #9333 expanded graphite gasket sprayed with Kopper Cote. I ran these 11 years on my Canfield headed 331, just had a leak develop on one side this past winter, I replaced them both with the race version of this gasket with the stainless fire rings. Don't recall that part number off hand. I'll look it up later today and post it. The 9333 has a std steel fire ring, that's the only difference. 11 years I think is great on an iron block // aluminum head combo that got overheated a few dozen times over those years. The 9333 was the gasket Ford used on these engines for the last ten years production.
