On the 1999/2000, where the seats fold forward and the backseat folds down, is there enough room to fit an XL Vari-Kennel?

Does the console seat scoot forward to make more room in the backseat area or it mounted to the floor?

 

Not sure that anyone will know that off hand.
A measuring tape will though.

 

The crate itself is

27" wide x 30" high x 40" long

Does anyone mind measuring for me?

 

My 08 extended cab, we used a carrier on the seat when it was down.It was slightly smaller than the size your asking about and it would not fit on the floor but on the seat it was fine.

 

No it wont fit. I actually tried with that same kennel. Fido has to freeze over the winter.

 

Is yours a '99 with the fold down style seat or the later kind where the seat folds up?

 

It wont fit, I have a crew cab and I can only get (1) large VariKennel in there - I actua;lly built a platcorm to seat on top of the seat so I have (1) dog in a crate and one loose with a seat belt.

Things of doing a custom build to add dividers to my platform and each dog would have space.

 

I recently made a custom carrier for my two great danes(one is 170lbs the other 140) I basically took two pieces of plywood and put four door hidges where the seat ends and made three legs that come out(so basically the back seat is extended to the back of the front seats) I then covered it with 1/2 foam padding and carpet that matches the color of my truck interior. it works great and the dogs are really comfortable back there now.
