Quit spending so much time imagining the finished product and spend time on the steps that lead to the finished product. Within that period things will change, financial situation, a more positive outlook, a different vision and most of all a rejuvenated person with a better self esteem.

It happens to all of us

I was where you are now, frustrated and unsure i could finish a truck that needed more than i could do. Feeling overwhelmed about not having room or parts and having to do most my work outside with ants snakes and bees interfering just when things start showing progress. Well these guys on here turned it around for me. Now im working on 3 trucks and feeling like if it takes me 4 years ill do it. Since you like pics here are some to think about.

So far seems im moving at a snails pace compared o

I feel lucky that I haven't had to take my truck apart yet. I want to paint it someday, but still not sure I want to spend the time and money to do it right. By that, I mean removing the cab, cleaning and repainting the frame and axles, refurbishing the springs and then painting the cab and putting it all back together. That seems like such a huge amount of work that I know several on this forum have already done.

So, I'm doing small things to stay interested in the truck. A little cleaning here, a little painting there. I just installed a script bed, and I don't consider that to be a small thing. But I've been wanting one since I got the truck 4 years ago.

Just sort through some parts, pick out something small and inexpensive that needs to be done, and do it. That's the best advice I can offer.

And we've missed seeing you around here, so don't be a stranger.

YUP! I bumped the bid by a buck. Running total so far about $10,000. New motor, trans, chrome grille, etc. I feel silly calling it a running total when I should call it a non-running total. Very fortunate that my current wife is not my first wife. I would be dead and she would be in prison..........I hope

Sounds like you need a bit of a helping hand. Just mention "free Pizza" and they will come.
I like the word"arseholeasaurus"...for a while there I thought you were an Aussie.

I'd say start off by doing an inventory of parts. Keep pile and sell pile. Then send pics of the sell pile to me with a price , then you will have room to work and a few extra dollars to spend on needed parts.

Make a list of things that need to be done. Put the cost next to each of them. Next, prioritize them. Then work only on the ones that you can afford and that fit into your current time slot. Start crossing them off as you finish them. You'll see progress and you'll be able to look at each individually so that you can determine if you have the supplies handy. Get the painting items done soon before the weather dips ( I remember delivering the Journal/Register up there). Save some of the cold weather and "takes little time" stuff for Nov-Feb. Have a Mel-O-Cream (or two).

If you're anything like me, you know there are a thousand things to do, and you can't focus on one. It's easier to do nothing at all..

Just doing something, is better than putting it off. Then you get to cross it off your list. Just today I was helping my son on his car. I was giving him things to do that were taking a long time, so I pulled the truck up behind his car and popped the hood. Ended up adjusting the valves and now it's quieter and runs better. Been putting that off since I got it running months ago.

Just do something.

welp got the diff back under her ( just temp until all is finalized ! ) and got the front axle back out of it to pull the left spindle again . had too as i started to put it on and realized i was missing all the little washers etc. that 'sposed to be in there ..... looked for them , still in the package somewhere , but they got lost many , many moons ago ....... so now we need to order set number two of them from either mid fifty or speedway . pukked the bag off my flatty and she's getting a lot of surface rust on the decks and cylinders so i geuss that'll be the next thing i do , get some superfine scotchbrite or something like that , and try cleaning them up again then oil the crap out of it again and bag it up AGAIN ............... so kinda like a government agency the wheels are slowly beginning to roll forward ..........................
