If you're tall no problem , If you're round then power steering and a smaller wheel will help , If you have old arthritic knees then an automatic and a hanging brake pedal will be more comfortable .

I'm 6'5" and 200 lbs. The only issue I have is when moving from the gas to the brake, my right knee will graze the column shift if it's in 3rd gear. Not a problem though.

Im6'1" 245 lbs - head room was no problem even when I put jeep buckets in my 49 F3
As others have said the leg room is the major concern I sold the truck because I was worried about going from gas to brake. This was only because of knees that have been shot for years. Even with knee replacement my right leg is questionable ( too any years of abuse) . An automatic would be much better than the 5 speed I had. Getting the buckets helped in I was able to get a little more height to it and still had head room.
My 2 cents is go sit in and drive one if at all possible. If your knees are good you'll know right away if they are anything like mine you will understand what I'm saying. This is a great hobby and with the guys I've met on this forum it has been a way to have fun with guys all over the country enjoying the same interest. So much so I'm trying to find another old Ford to buy. I may have to squint my eyes and pretend it's a P/u but that's ok. Have fun

I'm 6' 4" and 195lbs. Headroom is not a problem, but leg room definitely is. I wear a 38" inseam pant and there's no leg room in a '51 F1 cab. I'm starting a '51 panel truck. It has a lot more room for my legs.

6'3" there's plenty of headroom in my 54. I made a comment about that to my dad on the trip back actually that it was so roomy. I think even with a 3" chop I'd still be very comfortable. But us tall guys get used to these issues anyways, I find.

I'm short and fat and the belly to steering wheel clearance is my biggest problem in my 52!

The 53-56 design increased the cab space considerably, That was Ford's selling point when it introduced the design. The seats are tall, so the seating position more like sitting on a pillow on a kitchen chair than reclining in a lazyboy, aiding in the legroom. Hanging pedal(s) can add a lot of footroom. Using late model thin back seats also increases the upper body room. Power steering with a smaller diameter steering wheel on a tilt column finishes giving room that even John Wayne would have been comfortable in. Unless you are very strangely proportioned, a basically stock to easily modified 53-56 cab should provide plenty of room.

As someone brought up to me on my thread. Lower seat, more leg room you will need. High seat, less head room.

I'm 5' 10 and with my seat height, which is fairly low but not right on the floor, I found it wasn't that comfortable resting your foot on the floor and using the pedals. Felt like my toes were pointed to my head and that would get extremely uncomfortable over time.

I modified the firewall and it's MUCH more comfortable.
