1956 F100 build

A quick history first. Back in '56, my grandpa bought this truck new when my dad was born. Eventually it got passed down to my dad and in the early 80's, it was parked. I remember playing in it as a kid and as long as I can remember I've always wanted this truck. Then, a couple of years ago, my dad finally passed down his old truck to me.
Work on it has been slow, but it's coming along steadily. I don't have a huge budget to spend on her but I do what I can when I can. I'm not planning a full restoration at is time, just fixing and replacing what I need to get her going reliably and safely. A few months ago I got her running after all these years of sitting and was also able to drive her for a short distance albeit with no brakes.

As I make progress I'll try to update this thread. Thanks for your interest!

Just got done pulling the 292. Found water in the oil so it's looks like it's going to get a rebuild.

That's awesome the truck has been in your family ever since day 1. And I love the patina even more!! I would not touch that patina for anything. Clean it up a little bit and clear coat it. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures.

Thanks! Yeah, that's the plan. I'll probably get the wheels powder coated and get some new trim rings and hub caps, but that's probably all the "bling" the exterior will have.

While I love high dollar cars and trucks, your truck speaks to me more. Tells a story, scars and all. Just full of character!
