Tachometer question

So I just put a tachometer in my 96 F250 351W. My problem/question is: when I floor it and let her wind threw first and second she shifts at about 3700rpm. This doesn't seem right. Is my tachometer right? Does a 351W really only rev that high?

Your tach may be a little off but this motor makes peak HP at about 3800rpm so it is possible the trans shift point is that low.
