Who's running 5 star tunes on 6.2

Anyone have the 6.2 with 5 star tunes? How do you like the tune? What mpg are you averaging? Should have my tunes from them soon. They were awesome on my f150 5.0.

Thank you fishbones182! Hopefully many share their experiences with you. I believe you will be quite impressed with the tunes for your 6.2!

I used them on my 2006 F350 5.4l, and there was a noticable improvement in performance and mileage.

I did it in part because I also have a 2011 F350 6.2l that is vastly superior to the 5.4l; it felt like I was driving a jalopy when I drive the 5.4l

I figured that I would try a tuner in the 6.2l too, but wasn't expecting much since the engine already performed nicely. The tuner didn't do anything for the 6.2l that I could discern. The mpg didn't change at all.

I had their 87 tune on my 6.2L. Noticeable increase in power, better throttle response and better shifting. Did nothing for MPG but wasn't expecting it to.

What does tuning cost? Is it harmful to anything? Null warranty etc? 2011 f250 4x4

Not looking for mpg increase really. Just the better response was a world of difference on my f150

I already have an sct x4 tuner one custom tune from 5 star is 100.00 and up from there depending on how many you get. Wish forum members got discounts. As far as warranty some say yes some say no but it's really based upon your dealer. My dealer don't care if you run a tune or not they just ask to return to stock tune bring it in they will fix it.

On the 2011 6.2l, I think it was the 87eco. I had to take it in for servicing awhile ago, so I returned it to stock.

Eco is just a tiny bit better then stock. If you have it try the daily/ tow tune I think you'll see more of a difference with that tune. Of course I have not tried it myself but most of the time on the f150 I ran the performance / tow tune basically the same with different name the difference was quite noticeable. I have no part in 5 star by the way just a fan of their tunes.

That's a great question. Same engine but the ecm code would have to be the same.

Loaded the performance/tow tune and ran it for about a week. Definite improvement in engine performance. Downside is that mpg went to about 10.4 from about 11.6.

Loaded in the other tune for towing. Mpg was even worse and engine felt like it was really resisting, which I understand isn't really for daily driving.

Put it back to stock today since I'm fine with the stock performance; wanted the best mpg. Can always throw the performance/tow tune back on for fun at times.
