Clutch not working on 1948 F-7
My dad went to take his '48 F-7 for a spin the other day and he said he couldn't get it into gear. Thinking I knew more than him I told him to move out of the way and I'd show him how to get it in gear. Sure enough he was right when you push down the clutch pedal, all it would do is grind when you tried any gear. I got under the truck to see if I could see anything obvious. It is a direct shaft into the bell housing/transmission (no hydraulics). All of the springs appear to be in place and functioning and the pedal travel seems the same as it has always been. When you push the clutch pedal in, the shaft does rotate, but the clutch does not engage. We have had this truck for over 30 years and never had any issues with the clutch before now. It was suggested to me by someone that the throw-out bearing may be stuck. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks!!!

Just as Chuck said, when you press on the clutch pedal and it fells good (clutch
spring pressure) then the disk is stuck doesn't take much a little grease goo is
all it takes. We have good results by warming engine to normal then put in first
gear and start the truck then holding clutch pedal down jab the gas/ let off a few
times so it will jerk & they usually will break loose. (my 56 T800 stuck real bad)
it did break free after much of the above method. Fortunately the Y block has a
clutch pan. Loaded with mouse nest droppings etc. Big question how in hell do
mice get in there ??????????????????????????????????????????????????

The clutch disc is stuck to the flywheel. Start it in gear with the clutch pedal down and brakes on, and try to break it free. If it's not stuck too bad, it will break free and all is well. If it's been parked in a damp area for a long time, it may be beyond freeing, and it will need to be replaced.
